Our Institute Hosts the 2025 Joint Meeting of Deans/Department Heads/Engineering Training Center Directors of Jiangxi Mechanical Engineering

From November 14th to 15th, the 2025 Joint Meeting of Deans/Department Heads/Engineering Training Center Directors of Jiangxi Mechanical Engineering Schools and the 2025 Jiangxi Mechanical Engineering Society Academic Annual Conference, organized by the Jiangxi Mechanical Engineering Society and hosted by the Nanchang University Advanced Manufacturing Institute, was held in Nanchang. Li Lide, Honorary Chairperson of the Jiangxi Mechanical Engineering Society, and Dong Anping, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Nanchang University, attended and delivered speeches. Zhang Bin, Dean of the Nanchang University Advanced Manufacturing Institute, presided over the opening ceremony. Under the theme "Intelligent Manufacturing Empowers Green Transformation—Collaborative Innovation in Mechanical Engineering and Regional Industry", the conference brought together over 130 representatives from more than 60 universities, enterprises, and research institutions across the province.

Dong Anping delivered a welcome speech, extending a warm welcome to all participants on behalf of the university. He emphasized that this conference serves as a crucial platform for integrating educational resources and connecting industrial needs in Jiangxi's mechanical engineering field. It holds significant importance for promoting the development of mechanical engineering disciplines, talent cultivation, and industry collaboration in Jiangxi Province, driving the high-quality development of Jiangxi's manufacturing sector, and is bound to inject new vitality into the development of mechanical engineering disciplines at our university.

Li Lide stated that the conference theme, "Intelligent Manufacturing Empowers Green Transformation", fully aligns with the national strategic direction for future industrial development and technological self-reliance. It also represents a key pathway for Jiangxi Province to implement the "1269" Action Plan and build a modern industrial system. Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, technological innovation and industrial upgrading will be the overarching themes. As the main front for talent cultivation and original innovation, universities, along with societies serving as platforms for collaborative innovation, need to proactively integrate their own development into the national and regional strategic landscape. Holding the Joint Meeting of Deans concurrently with the Academic Annual Conference is a practical measure to promote the synergistic force of education, science & technology, and talent—the "triad"—in serving industrial innovation.

Yang Wen, Party Branch Secretary and Secretary-General of the Jiangxi Mechanical Engineering Society, in the form of a special Party lecture, conveyed, studied, and promoted the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. He emphasized integrating the spirit of the plenary session into fostering virtue through education and translating it into a powerful driving force for advancing technological innovation and industrial development, thereby contributing to striving for the Jiangxi chapter of Chinese modernization.

During the conference report session, Professor Liu Zhenyu, Party Committee Secretary of the Zhejiang University School of Mechanical Engineering, and Professor Tian Jie, Director of the Engineering Quality Education Center at Hefei University of Technology, delivered invited reports titled "Promoting Discipline Excellence, Cultivating Talents for the Era—Exploration and Practice of Mechanical Engineering at Zhejiang University" and "Thoughts and Practices on Engineering Training Center Construction Under the New Engineering Education Background", respectively. Professor Ai Fanrong, Executive Dean of the Nanchang University Advanced Manufacturing Institute; Professor Zhang Shuguo, Director of the Nanchang Hangkong University Engineering Training Center; Professor Guo Wenxing, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Jiangxi Vocational University of Technology, among others, presented conference reports on topics such as New Engineering Education construction, the development of Engineering Training Centers, and the development of vocational education specialty clusters.

In the industry-education integration report session, representatives from Jiangling Motors, Hongdu Aviation, Huazhong CNC, and Jiangxi Higher Education Press shared practical experiences on topics including automotive numerical simulation, intelligent manufacturing, green-intelligent collaboration, and textbook development. Professor Li Xiaobing from Nanchang University, representing the Joint Meeting Secretariat, presented a report on the development of mechanical engineering discipline competitions in relation to discipline/program construction and talent cultivation.

During the industry-education integration forum, representatives from universities and enterprises engaged in lively discussions on topics like talent cultivation and university-enterprise cooperation, jointly exploring new pathways for industry-education integration in the mechanical engineering field.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Chen Jia, Party Committee Secretary of the Nanchang University Advanced Manufacturing Institute. He summarized the outcomes of the conference, noting its success in fostering deeper integration between talent cultivation and industrial development. During the flag-handover ceremony, Ji Gangchang, Vice Chairperson of the Jiangxi Mechanical Engineering Society; Ai Fanrong, Executive Dean of the Nanchang University Advanced Manufacturing Institute; and Zhang Shuguo, Director of the Nanchang Hangkong University Engineering Training Center, jointly completed the handover of hosting responsibilities for the Joint Meeting. Zhang Shuguo, on behalf of the 2026 host institution, delivered a speech, welcoming all parties to gather at Nanchang Hangkong University next year.

The Joint Meeting of Deans/Department Heads/Engineering Training Center Directors of Jiangxi Mechanical Engineering Schools is a communication and cooperation platform jointly established by schools of mechanical engineering and engineering training centers from over 50 undergraduate and vocational colleges in Jiangxi Province. The Joint Meeting operates on a rotating hosting system, with its secretariat based at the Nanchang University Advanced Manufacturing Institute. It aims to deepen the reform of higher education in Jiangxi's mechanical engineering field, foster exchanges and cooperation in mechanical engineering discipline construction, talent cultivation, program development, and industry-education integration, and promote the development of mechanical engineering disciplines, talent cultivation, and the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in Jiangxi Province.
