time:2025-11-29

Recently, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) officially announced the funding list for the 2026 Innovative Talent International Training Programs. The program titled "International Collaborative Training Program for Innovative Interdisciplinary Talents in Low-Carbon Energy Conservation and Energy Storage," spearheaded by Prof. Zhang Ying from the School of Advanced Manufacturing at Nanchang University, has successfully secured renewed approval! This program has been granted a three-year (2026-2028) funding support from the CSC. Having been approved and implemented twice consecutively before, the program has successfully completed a six-year international talent joint training mission. This renewal marks the sustained national recognition of the program's disciplinary alignment, collaborative model, and training outcomes, representing a significant continuous breakthrough in the school's international education and disciplinary development.

As a key internationally collaborative project supported by the school, this program closely aligns with the national "Dual Carbon" strategic needs and cutting-edge disciplinary developments. Leveraging the school's strengths in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, Materials Science and Engineering, and other disciplines, it establishes a cross-national, high-level collaborative training platform. The implementation period is from 2026 to 2028. In partnership with several world-renowned universities, including Johns Hopkins University (USA), National University of Singapore (Singapore), University of Tsukuba (Japan), De Montfort University (UK), and University of Malaya (Malaysia), the program builds a diversified and in-depth system for international academic exchange and talent cultivation.

According to the program plan, five outstanding students will be selected annually from 2026 to 2028 to participate in joint training at overseas partner institutions, comprising three joint-training PhD students and two joint-training Master's students. Selected students will receive financial support from the CSC, covering one round-trip international travel fare and a living allowance for the funded period. Under the guidance of top-tier overseas research teams, students will conduct in-depth research focusing on cutting-edge topics such as low-carbon energy conservation and energy storage technologies, aiming to broaden their academic horizons and enhance their scientific research innovation capabilities and international competitiveness.

In recent years, the School of Advanced Manufacturing at Nanchang University has consistently placed high importance on international education and talent cultivation, continuously building platforms for international cooperation and exchange, and encouraging faculty to lead high-level international research and talent joint training projects. The approval of this program represents full recognition by the CSC of the school's disciplinary strength, talent cultivation philosophy, and international cooperation resources. In the future, the school will strictly adhere to the requirements of the CSC and the project management measures, following the principles of "openness, fairness, and impartiality" in candidate selection and project implementation. Taking this program as an opportunity, the school will further deepen academic exchanges and research collaboration with world-class universities, propelling the quality of talent cultivation and the level of international education to new heights.

Congratulations to Prof. Zhang Ying and her team! We look forward to the project injecting new momentum into the school's disciplinary development and talent cultivation, and training more internationally competitive interdisciplinary talents for China's low-carbon energy sector!
