Lushan City Fafen Group and Nanchang University School of Advanced Manufacturing Jointly Establish Advanced Aluminum Industry Technology Res

On July 30, 2025, Jiangxi Fafen Enterprise Investment Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Fafen Group") and the Nanchang University School of Advanced Manufacturing held a signing ceremony in Lushan City, formally establishing the "Nanchang University-Fafen Group Innovation Research Institute." Liu Jiulin, Chairman of Fafen Group, and Liu Yong, Vice Dean of the Nanchang University School of Advanced Manufacturing, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. This marks a new phase of deep cooperation between the university and the enterprise in areas such as aluminum industry technological innovation, talent cultivation, and achievement transformation.

This collaboration aims to integrate the research strengths of the university with the industrial resources of the enterprise, promoting the deep integration of teaching, research, and market demands. The research institute will focus on tackling core technologies in fields such as high-strength and high-toughness wrought aluminum alloy materials, non-ferrous metal rolling processing, and metal products. Through joint research team building, shared experimental platforms, and collaborative applications for major projects, it will establish a provincial-level new research and development institution, build an integrated innovation system of "industry-academia-research-application," and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Jiangxi Province's new materials industry.

According to the agreement, both parties will focus on four main directions: joint construction of research platforms, collaborative technological breakthroughs, coordinated talent cultivation, and achievement transformation and intellectual property protection. By jointly establishing high-level laboratories and pilot bases, they will concentrate on solving key technical challenges such as enhancing the strength and lightweighting of aluminum alloy materials. They will also set up a joint university-enterprise mentorship mechanism to cultivate engineering and technical talents urgently needed by the industry, while simultaneously establishing a system for sharing research achievements and protecting intellectual property rights, comprehensively empowering industrial upgrading.

The establishment of the research institute in Lushan City will further strengthen the advantages of the local non-ferrous metal industry cluster and provide technological support for the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry in Jiujiang and even Jiangxi Province. It is expected to become a demonstration project for industry-academia-research cooperation in Jiangxi Province, contributing a model for implementing the "innovation-driven development" strategy.
