Research Directions

The team has long been engaged in the research on advanced materials joining and manufacturing technology, with a particular focus on the basic mechanisms and industrial applications of advanced joining technologies such as ultrasonic welding, laser welding, and resistance spot welding. It is committed to solving the lightweight and high-performance welding challenges in fields like new energy vehicles, aerospace, and equipment manufacturing. Specifically including:

  1. Focusing on advanced joining technologies (ultrasonic welding, laser welding, resistance spot welding, etc.), researching the interfacial behavior, microstructure regulation, and performance optimization of dissimilar material welding, so as to promote the reliable joining of lightweight structures and multi-functional composite materials;

  2. Conducting research on welding thermal-mechanical coupling simulation, microstructure evolution prediction, welding deformation and control; realizing online welding quality monitoring and process optimization by combining machine vision, sensor embedding and other technologies, so as to improve the intelligence level of welding manufacturing;

  3. Studying the effects of mechanisms such as rare earth element strengthening, interfacial reaction inhibition, and post-weld heat treatment on the mechanical properties and service behavior of welded joints; developing new welding materials and processes to enhance the reliability and durability of welding structures in harsh environments.

Long-term commitment to the mechanism research and application development of advanced joining technologies such as ultrasonic welding, laser welding, and resistance spot welding. Has presided over more than 40 projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, published over 140 academic papers, obtained more than 30 authorized invention patents, and won honors such as the Baosteel Excellent Teacher Award, Fok Ying Tung Excellent Teacher Award, and Jiangxi Provincial Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent.
