Title: Lecturer/ Deputy Director of Teaching, Department of Materials Forming

Courses: Engineering Drawing, Mechanical Design, etc.

Research Interests

Dr. Liqiang Gong’s research focuses on materials for extreme service environments and surface engineering, with an emphasis on the synergistic regulation of microstructure–interface–property relationships in ferrous alloys and NiTi functional materials. His research covers: high-chromium strengthened Fe-based wear- and corrosion-resistant alloys (composition design and interfacial stability mechanisms), corrosion-resistant steels and heat-resistant steels (corrosion behavior, high-temperature oxidation, and microstructural optimization), NiTi shape memory alloy coatings and additive manufacturing (phase transformation control and service reliability), as well as pressed ceramic materials (processing and property evaluation).

Across multiple material systems including ferrous alloys, functional coatings, and ceramics, he systematically investigates the intrinsic correlations among composition–microstructure–interface–service behavior, elucidating damage initiation and evolution under complex environments. His work aims to provide scientific guidance for materials selection, structural optimization, and lifetime enhancement of critical components in advanced engineering equipment.
